世界でも有数の活気に満ちたエキサイティングな街、香港を拠点とする〈香港バレエ団〉が2020/2021シーズンのオーディションを開催します。

 

香港バレエ団は、古典作品から、20世紀の名作であるジョージ・バランシンの『ジュエルズ』、さらにはウェイン・マクレガー、アレクセイ・ラトマンスキー、クリストファー・ウィルドン、トレイ・マッキンタイアー、アナベル・ロペス・オチョア、ジャスティン・ペック等の現代振付家の作品に至るまで、魅惑的な上演を行うレパートリーを数多く持っています。

 

香港、中国、韓国、フィリピン、日本等のアジア圏だけでなく、アメリカ、カナダ、キューバ、オーストラリア、ニュージランドなど多国籍のダンサーからなる国際色豊かなダンスカンパニーです。香港バレエ団では、ダンサーの多様性を重んじており、世界各国からの才能あふれるダンサーを募集しています。

【3/15 オーディションの方法を変更いたしました】

各国の入国制限措置及び入国後の行動制限により、香港バレエ団芸術監督 セプティム・ウェバー並びに、香港バレエ団バレエマスター江上悠の両名とも、来日が不可能となりました。つきましては、下記の通り、本オーディションの方法を変更させていただきます。

【審査方法】
1次オーディション　- 書類及び映像審査 –
応募書類の締切日(3月22日)は変わりません。ただし、映像添付を必須となり、こちらを1次審査とさせていただきます。映像は、バーレッスン、センターレッスン、クラシックヴァリエーションを大凡15分以内にまとめて頂き、ネオクラシックやコンテンポラリーダンス作品があればそれらも追加しお送りください。既にご応募済みの方で追加映像希望の方は、メールで結構ですのでその旨記載し、お送りいただきますようお願い申し上げます。1次オーディションの結果は、合否に関わらず3月末から4月上旬にかけてご連絡させて頂き、また、結果とともに2次オーディションについてのご案内を個別に致します。

2次オーディション　- スカイプによる面接 –

1次審査通過者を対象に3月末から4月上旬にかけて個別にご連絡させて頂きました日程にて、スカイプ面接をアーキタンツにて行います。また、必要に応じて個別オーディション（クラスやヴァリエーションのチェック等）をさせていただきます。

香港バレエ団芸術監督　
Septime Webre ❘ セプティム・ウェバー

キューバ系アメリカ人。国際的に広く認知されているバレエ監督、振付家、教育者、提唱者。2017年7月より香港バレエ団の芸術監督に就任。それ以前は、17年間に渡りワシントン・バレエ団の芸術監督を務め、1993年から1999年まではアメリカ・レパートリー・バレエ団を率いる。また、ワシントンD.C.で毎年開催される創造性のための国際フェスティバル『Halcyon』の芸術監督としても活躍。振付家としては、パシフィック・ノースウエスト・バレエ団、レ・グラン・バレエ・カナディアン、コロラド・バレエ団、バレエ・ウェスト等で作品を上演。また、ダンスのみならず演劇やオペラの演出も手掛ける。ダンサーとしては、古典のレパートリー作品から、トワイラ・サープ、ポール・テイラー、マース・カニングハム等の現代作品に至るまで、ソロや主役を踊る。ヴァルナ、ニューヨーク、ソウル等の国際バレエコンクールで審査員、また『Dance/USA』の役員を務める。テキサス大学にて歴史学/プレ法学の学士号を取得。

 

 

香港バレエ団バレエマスター　
江上　悠 | Yuh Egami

沖縄出身。7歳より森島富美加バレエ＆ジャズダンス教室に通う。16歳より英国ロイヤル・バレエ・スクールに留学し、卒業後香港バレエに入団。ダンサーとして踊る傍ら、2014年よりレペティターを務める。2018年よりアシスタント・バレエ・マスターを経て2019年よりバレエ・マスターに就任。入団当初より振付ワークショップで小品を多数発表し、バレエ団以外（香港・マカオ）でもダンス・ダンス映像作品を多数発表する。全幕作品としては「ファイアー・クラッカー/糊塗爆竹賀新年」（2010）と「フロッグ・プリンス／青蛙王子」（2013）を香港の著名振付家、ユーリ・ンと共同制作し、2015年には「ボレロ」、2017年に「カルメン」、2019年に「春の祭典」を香港バレエに委託されリッキー・フーと共同制作し好評を得る。(Photo by Lee Wai Leung)

Auditions for 2020-21 Season

 

Hong Kong Ballet is seeking exquisite classical dancers at the corps and principal levels for the 2020/21 season to dance in one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world. The repertoire includes ravishing stagings of classical works, Balanchine’s Jewels, as well as contemporary works by Wayne McGregor, Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon, Trey McIntyre, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Justin Peck and more.

[March 15 @ Audition method changed]

① Primary selection by document and video

On March 22, the deadline for application documents.
please make video attachment mandatory.

This video will be used for the first round of judging.
The video should include a bar lesson, a center lesson, and a classic variation within approximately 15 minutes, with additional neoclassical and contemporary dance pieces sent.

If you have already applied and would like additional video, please send it by e-mail.

 

② Interviews with Skype will be held at ARCHITANZ for those who succeed in the primary selection.
In addition, we will hold individual auditions (such as checking classes and variations) as necessary.
Succeeded applicants will be contacted individually and we expect Skype audition to be held during end of March to the beginning of April at Architanz.

【Judges】

Hong Kong Ballet Artistic Director 
Septime Webre

Septime Webre is an internationally recognized ballet director, choreographer, educator, and advocate. He assumed artistic directorship of Hong Kong Ballet from July 2017, prior to that, he led The Washington Ballet for 17 years and the American Repertory Ballet from 1993-1999. In addition, Webre is the Artistic Director of Halcyon, an annual international festival for creativity in Washington DC. As a choreographer, Webre has worked with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Colorado Ballet, Ballet West, and many others, and he has worked frequently in theatre and opera. As a dancer, Webre danced solo and principal roles from the classical repertoire as well as in contemporary works by Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor and Merce Cunningham. He has served on the juries of international ballet competitions in Varna, New York, Seoul, and elsewhere. He has served on the board of Dance/USA. He holds a degree in History/Pre-Law from the University of Texas and is the 7th son in a Cuban-American family.

 

Hong Kong Ballet Ballet Master
Yuh Egami

From Okinawa, Japan. After training locally at Fumika Morishima Ballet & Jazz Dance studio, Yuh Egami graduated from The Royal Ballet School in London and joined Hong Kong Ballet in 2002. He assumed the additional role of Répétiteur for the Company in 2014 and was named Assistant Ballet Master in 2018 before he became Ballet Master in 2019.
Egami began choreographing for Hong Kong Ballet in its annual production of Choreographic Showcase. Egami was an associate choreographer to Yuri Ng in his full-length work Firecracker in 2010. Together with Hu Song-Wei, Egami has co-choreographed several full-length works for the company – The Frog Prince-A Ballet Chinois in 2013 (as associate choreographers to Yuri Ng), Bolero in 2015, Carmen in 2017 and most recently The Rite of Spring in 2019. His work Bolero (2015) with Hu, won Outstanding Ensemble performance at the Hong Kong Dance Awards 2016.
